Mandy Leith: Founding Director & Head of Production

Mandy has worked in TV for longer than she cares to share! She has worked across all genres and formats, from drama to TV landmark series to cinematic features. Her and Brian worked together at Scorer Associates first, producing series like *Congo*, *Africa’s Big Game* and much more before founding BLP together. Since then, she has been our head of production, overseeing the development and production from our cinematic features *Born In China* and *The Fire Within*, to our current strand of *One Shows*.

Brian Leith: Founding Director

Brian has been making environmental impact films and radio in Bristol since the 1970s. He produced and executive produced numerous landmark blu-chip series for the BBC, including Wild China, Ganges, Human Planet, Nature’s Great Events and Wild Arabia.

He produced award winning single docs such as The Cultured Ape, Life On Air and Charles Darwin and the Tree of Life.

After many years at indies and in the BBC, Brian and Mandy founded Brian Leith Productions together, with Brian going on to develop and exec Wild Canada, Born in China and The Age of Nature.

Brian has been involved in the wider community for decades too, hosting ‘in conversations’ at Wildscreen Festival with heroes in conservation such as Jane Goodall, Daphne Sheldrick and George Schaller. He was the recipient of the Legacy Award at Jackson Wild in 2022. Brian has now taken a back seat from work, but his passion for storytelling and his ideology still inform everything BLP do to this day.

Emily Davies: Assistant Producer

Emily has been a cornerstone of BLP since joining in 2018. She has played a key role in securing new commissions, contributing to the development of ideas from their earliest stages and helping shape them into compelling pitches.

Emily works across every stage of production — from development through to delivery — on landmark series including The Age of Nature and The Future of Nature, as well as numerous One Show films and many other programmes over the past eight years.

Debbie Hinnigan: Executive Producer

With over 25 years in production, Debbie has worked in all genres of TV. She has headed up
development teams as well as Exec’d in production – enjoying both. At the heart of it, Debbie has a passion for
telling stories and devising new ways of making them. She oversees and develops both short and
long form shows and am adept at finding other sources of funding and exploring new outlets
and platforms in order to reach a wider audience for our work.

Verity White: Series Producer

Verity has been developing ideas with BLP and heading up our productions since 2019. She was SP on The Age of Nature and The Future of Nature, and more recently producing and directing brilliant One Shows. Before working with us, Verity was at the BBC producing episodes of various award winning series at the BBC including Africa and Wild Tales From The Village. Verity also heads up her own production company Five Films and the Wild Carbon fund, a nature carbon offsetting organisation.
